hello!
This companion blog mainly hosts links that I want to mark for later reference. It's my virtual collection. As I read through literally thousands of blog postings, patterns naturally reveal themselves. Hey, it's a hobby that I enjoy. All links are gathered manually, i.e., I do not use any kind of automated search query. I figure I might as well share what I've found. Plus, I'm using this as a tester blog, so you might see a few oddities from time to time.

women in science
I never thought I'd collect information like this. I cherish a book, given to me by a lovely volunteer, where my mentor was asked to write about her experiences in science. None of the stories in the book (same title as my blog post, plus add the words "Journeys of..." and "...and Engineering, no universal constants") were this matter-of-fact. What are your thoughts?

2010 blog retrospectives
I had originally planned to do a New Year's compilation of well wishes, but there were too many to keep track. It seems to me many people have their own way of welcoming a new year or looking back on the previous year, all of which is a bit arbitrary to get sentimental according to some calendar date. For a moment, I was planning on posting a Nature ID highlight of 2010... until I saw several other people beat me to the punch:
